Richard Ellison founded Wanderlust Wine in London in 2016, turning a BSc (Hons) in Food & Wine Technology, ten years in corporate banking, and a lifelong passion for travel into one of the UK's most distinctive independent wine merchants. It was wine school that changed everything. Enrolling initially as a personal interest, Richard progressed through the WSET levels with distinction and recognised that his sensory instincts, academic grounding, and appetite for discovery pointed somewhere far more purposeful. Wanderlust Wine was born from a simple but underserved idea: that the UK market was missing the smaller, often family-run producers that serious wine lovers encounter on their travels but can rarely find at home.
