I am an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Limerick (UL). I also serve as the Director of Postgraduate Research & Education in the Faculty of Science & Engineering. I was previously the Programme Director for UL's postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in airworthiness. My research expertise is in the areas of metal plasticity of conventional and additively manufactured (3D printed) metals, working on modelling and characterisation of their mechanical behaviour under complex loading. I also conduct research in airworthiness management and engineering, with a focus on aviation safety regulations and standardisation.
