I'm a Legal Trust Accounting Specialist providing remote freelance support to U.S. law firms across multiple states. My first bookkeeping client was a law firm. Legal trust accounting has then been my focus from the beginning. Most of the law firms I work with reach out because their trust account does not balance. The bank statement, QuickBooks Online, and their case management software such as Clio, MyCase, or PracticePanther are showing different numbers, and no one can explain why.
