My path to becoming a licensed therapist began as a first generation college student at Harvard, when I I began volunteering with youth in an after school program while pursuing my psychology degree. In my conversations, education and observations, I began to understand more deeply the impact that mental health, trauma and adversity had on the families and communities (especially BIPOC and low-income). After obtaining my Bachelors degree, I pursued teaching but soon realized that what called me to teaching was being able to connect with students more personally and on an emotional level.
