James Getzen is the Chief Operating Officer of Alpas Wellness, a family-owned, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral health organization serving Maryland and Virginia. He joined Alpas in January 2024 as a Business Development Manager, was named Chief Strategy Officer in August 2024, and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in March 2025. His path to behavioral health was not the traditional one. He spent the first decade of his career in the advanced battery and energy storage industry, where complex manufacturing and engineering environments taught him to identify variation, trace outcomes to root causes, and build systems that perform under pressure.
