Erik Chan

Erik is CEO of PrettyFluent, a language app built for expats and travelers who need practical fluency fast, not textbook perfection. He speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese fluently, taught himself conversational French, and spent a decade learning German with little to show for it. He has a firsthand understanding of not just how languages are learned, but how and why they fail us. With over 20 years living abroad across Asia and Europe, he built PrettyFluent around what actually works. Previously MIT, Johns Hopkins, and Tsinghua University.
