For over thirty-five years, I've practiced architecture and landscape design together as an integrated discipline, often inverting conventional design hierarchy, so landscape drives the building rather than merely decorating it. I began my career with the late Charles Moore, as a project designer for UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, the Beverly Hills Civic Center, Tegel Harbor in Berlin, and the Church of the Nativity in Rancho Santa Fe, which earned a National AIA Design Excellence Award. I collaborated with Moore and Lawrence Halprin on the Plaza Las Fuentes gardens in Pasadena and projects at Sea Ranch.
