I spent 30+ years as a CPA, CA in public practice, most recently as a partner, before founding Crunchr Apps. At my own firm, senior managers were carrying 200 extra hours a year while tax technicians weren't expected to work any overtime at all. That gap wasn't about anyone working harder. It was tax season admin: chasing clients for documents, cleaning up what came back incomplete, re-keying the same information into three different places. None of it came from theory. It came from doing tax season the hard way, for a long time, and finally having the time to build the fix: T1 Crunchr for tax intake, Med Crunchr for medical expense summaries.
