Alessandro Pignotti

Alessandro is the principal architect behind Leaning Technologies WebAssembly-based compilers and in-browser runtimes, and the technical voice of a business that remains founder-led and engineering-driven. His work spans Leaning Technologies' full product line: Cheerp, the C/C++-to-WebAssembly compiler; CheerpJ, the browser-based Java runtime; and CheerpX, which virtualises x86/Linux inside the browser. He created WebVM, the WebAssembly-powered x86 virtual machine that runs unmodified Linux binaries in a browser tab, which has since gained more than 17,000 stars on GitHub.
